John Paul II (2005) - Catholic Movie Review

If you want to see a dramatization of the life of the late great John Paul II, this made for television movie, for which John Voight won an Emmy, and Cary Elwes (whom you may remember from The Princess Bride) plays the young Karol Wojtyla before he becomes pope, is the one to get. It appears to be very accurate as well as very well produced and acted. While I am not a JPII expert, I have been able to confirm many of the facts and events portrayed, and have not found any glaring inaccuracies.

If you are looking for a documentary, the one to see is Witness to Hope - The Life of John Paul II (2002) , which is reviewed in another post.
